What if you place a point and have to go back and move that point....how would you do that after the fact?
What about creating a surface from scratch in the field, via manually inputted coordinates with elevations? Then in turn being able to stake out the DTM from there, all while out on site? Be it a flat surface, concave or a heaved shape, while giving you out of tolerance readings where ever you walk on your own designed surface?
